Bhopal : The state level Mowgli Bal Utsav got underway in Turiya Jungle Home Resort of Pench tiger reserve in Seoni district today. Baghira group’s children were selected for jungle safari at 5.30 am and were taken around the jungle.
All children participating in the event were brought to the venue of Mowgli Bal Utsav on December 21 night. The children were divided into 3 groups named after Mowgli’s friends Baghira, Balu and Ka. The event is being held under the supervision of Seoni collector Shri Bharat Yadav.
Other 2 groups of children including Balu and Ka went for naturetrail and habitat search with friends of Mowgli. They acquired information about villagers and performed cultural programmes among them. The Forest Department screened a film and presented a dance drama focusing on environment at Government High School, Bordoi. Disabled children presented songs on environment.
Various programmes will also be held during Mowgli Utsav on December 23 and 24.
