Bopal:Sunday, October 19, 2008:Governor Dr. Balram Jakhar released a book titled ‘Ek prakriti premi ke prerak prasang’ at the Raj Bhawan here today. The book has been penned by senior journalist and chief editor of Hindi daily Dainik Nai Duniya Dr. Surendra Tiwari.
Those present on the occasion included Commercial Taxes Minister Shri Babulal Gaur, Culture Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma, member of the Rajya Sabha Shri Raghunandan Sharma, state chiefof Red Cross Society Shri Mukesh Naik, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Dr. P. V. Gangopadhaya, chief editor of Dainik Bhaskar Shri Rakesh Chandra Agrawal, chief editor of Swadesh Shri Rajendra Sharma, journalists, distinguished citizens and senior officers.
Praising the contents of the book, Governor Dr. Jakhar said that environment will have to be kept neat and clean and good for health apart from conserving it for the sake of saving human life on the earth. Honest and dedicated efforts are imperative to protect forests and wildlife for ensuring environmental conservation. Expressing concern over the exploitative behaviour towards forests and wildlife, the Governor said that every citizen must undertake individual efforts to conserve forests and wildlife, which are our country’s rich heritage.
Expressing happiness over publication of the book, Commercial Taxes Minister Shri Babulal Gaur said that Indian culture and virtues command a great respect abroad. Forests have been the fields of work of our saints and hermits, who have carved out Indian culture. Shri Gaur said that there is no doubt that forests and wildlife have been saviours of Indian culture.
Secretary Culture Shri Manoj Shrivastava also lavished praise on the book based on protection of forests and wildlife. Earlier, author of the book Dr. Surendra Tiwari recalled several interesting episodes occurring during compilation of the book.
