The state cabinet at its meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today took several important decisions.
Briefing on the cabinet decisions the Minister for Law and Legislative Affairs and Spokesman of Madhya Pradesh Government Dr. Narottam Mishra informed that the 2X660 MW capacity Shri Singaji Thermal Power Project (second phase) in Khandwa district would be set up by Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company and a special purpose vehicle (SPV) would be set up for both the phases. The project is estimated to cost Rs. 6 thousand 500 crore. Eighty percent ( Rs. 5 thousand 200 crore) of this amount would be obtained as loan from financial institutions and 20 percent (Rs. 1300 crore) as share capital from the State Government. A total of 1232.9 hectare land would be required for all four phases of the project. Of this, 1169.4 hectare has already been acquired and notification has been issued for remaining 63 hectare.
The cabinet decided to grant exemption from section 306 of Madhya Pradesh Nagar Palik Nigam Adhiniyam 1956 for giving 8653 square feet land owned by Jabalpur Municipal Corporation to Waqf Momin Idgah (trust) Gohalpur, Jabalpur for construction of Ranital-Adhartal four lane road in lieu of its land.
The cabinet decided to constitute a cabinet sub-committee for examining the “Free and Compulsory Education of Children Rules 1010” framed for implementation of Right to Education Act 2009. The sub-committee comprises Minister for Finance Shri Raghavji, Minister for School Education Smt. Archana Chitnis, Minister for Tribal Welfare Kunwar Vijay Shah and Minister for Panchayats and Rural Development Shri Gopal Bhargawa.
The cabinet decided to give contractual appoint as Law Officer to retired Law Officer to the Governor Shri Charuchandra Dwivedi (higher judicial services).
The cabinet was apprised of the decisions taken at the 40th meeting of the empowered committee of Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority. It was decided to designate the Pachayats and Rural Development Department as nodal department for implementation of Mukhya Mantri Awas Mission, to make it administrative unit and to rename the Authority as Madhya Pradesh Rural Road and Housing Authority.
