20 Nov : Senior Research Scholars of Jammu University has today condemned some scholars with some interests for exploiting the platform of JURSEA and for misleading the students and Scholars of Jammu University.
Senior Research Scholars of Jammu University hold a meeting convened by Mr. Ashok Singh, Research Scholar, Department of Urdu severely criticized the episode held at Jammu University in which few persons disturbed the whole class work just breaching the sanctity of the institution.
Research Scholars in voice appealed to the Search Committee to appoint the new Vice Chancellor as early as possible and has demanded to the authority of Jammu University to cease such interventions by the persons who are lying on the pipe line projects of their vested interests in Jammu University. Scholars has charged that these are the same persons who protested against Prof Amitabh Mattoo on his arrival at Jammu University in the year 2002 and now this is quite clear as the exchange of camps reveals many realities.
Research Scholars appealed to the search committee to appoint the new vice chancellor under their own parameters of perfection and majority of students and scholars of the University believes in the fair selection process. They also appealed to the Chancellor of Jammu University to direct the vice chancellor to take such incidents with iron hands and must protect the sanctity of institution in which he has worked for 6 years.
Research Scholars asserted that University must take action against such elements under model code of conduct of Jammu University and claimed that as the term and tenure of JURSEA has already expired and majority of its office bearers has either completed their research work or got permanent jobs so the relevance of such statements by sole representatives never exist any where and the students and scholars has virtually no role in the selection process of vice chancellor.
Research Scholar representatives from different departments has appealed to students and scholars of Jammu University to resume their class work tomorrow and stressed them to complaint against such hand picked fellows if they try to breach the model code of conduct for discipline
The meeting was attended by more than 50 Research Scholars of Jammu University participated in the meeting. Prominent among them includes Mr Pankaj Mansotra, Research Scholar, Department of Mathematics, Mr. Ranjeet Sharma, Department Representative, Department of Sociology, Mr Sunil Sharma, Research Scholar, Department of Mathematics, Mr. Krishan Dev Singh, Department Representative, CSRS, Mr. Neeraj Gupta, Research Scholar, Department of Physics and Electronics, Mr. Sudesh Kumar, department of Urdu, Mr. Munish Mahajan, Department of Sociology, Mr. Gopal Sharma, Department of English and others.
