Jammu-12-Jan National Secular Forum (NSF), Jammu University Unit organized a programmed in Jammu University, and on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda who laid his life for the country.
Amid slogans “Swami Vivekananda – Amar Raha” ‘Bharat Mata ki jai”, and they paid tributes to Swami Vivekananda and garlanded the portraits of the son of soil.
Sh.Ankush Aborl, Member Working Committee JKCA, was the chief guest while Rakesh Chib, President JURSEA, was the guest of honour, and Vikas Sharma State President NSF, presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh.Ankush Aborl, Member Working Committee JKCA, appreciated the initiative taken by the NSF member to remember the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
He also threw light on the life and said that govt. of India in 1984 declared and decided to observe the birth of Swami Vivekananda (12 January, according to English calendar) as National Youth Day every year from 1985 onwards.
Vikas Sharma State President NSF also addressed the gathering and threw light on the life and preaching of Vivekananda. He said that SWAMI VIVEKANANDA’S inspiring personality was well known both in India and in America during the last decade of the nineteenth century and the first decade of the twentieth. The unknown monk of India suddenly leapt into fame at the Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893, at which he represented Hinduism.
Rakesh Chib, President JURSEA, also address to the students talks about principals of SWAMI VIVEKANANDA’ and inspired them to help the needy, respect all religions. He also enlightened the students about SWAMI VIVEKANANDA’S life history and urges the students to follow his principals.
He also said that Swami Vivekananda is one of most admired spiritual leaders of India. An inspiring spiritual and social leader, Vivekananda left an indelible mark in history with his teachings, which are studied around the world.
Rohit Sharma, President University Unit, was deliver the welcome address, Sunny Babbar, was delivering the vote of thanks. The whole programmed was coordinated by Sukdev Singh,Abhimanyu, Ajaz, Balveer, Sanjay Sharma, Sanjay Thakur, Ankit Raina , Magan Singh Chib and others.
