Jammu, 19 April:Ex-servicemen rally was organized by Tiger Division at Zorawar Stadium, Sunjuwan. Major General DL Chowdhary, General Officer Commanding, Tiger Division was the chief guest at the rally.Stalls were put up by Zilla Sainik Board, Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme and Recruiting Organisation to enlighten the soldiers. State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank and Khadi and Village Industries Department established their stalls to encourage self employment among the retired soldiers.
Besides registering the problems of ex-servicemen at the grievance cell, free medical camp was also held at the rally site. War Widows were honoured by dignitaries during the rally.Speaking at the occasion, General Officer Commanding, Tiger Division expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the retired personnel for turningup in large numbers and making the rally a success. He was appreciative of the services rendered by them to the organization and nation as well. He ensured the ‘Gaurav Senanis’ of the full support from the army. He emphasized that ‘Once a soldiers always a soldier’. We must therefore remain committed to the cause of the government, be proactive and forthcoming in giving a helping hand in all development projects planned by the government.
The chief guest also interacted with the pensioners and gave a patient hearing to their problems, many of their problems were resolved on the
spot, while directions were given to expedite the rest.
