11 August :A meeting of Welfare Section of H.P. State Red Cross Society was held here today under the Chairmanship of Smt. Sheela Dhumal Vice Chairperson of the Hospital Welfare Section of the Society. The proposed expenditure during the year 2008-2009 on different activities related to welfare section was discussed in detail and the budget of Rs. 31,52,000 was passed in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting Smt. Dhumal said that the State Red Cross is dedicated to the service of the suffering humanity and efforts are on to take the welfare activities to village level. She said that the Welfare Section of Red Cross Society was supplementing to the efforts of the Red Cross in the perfect implementation of all its welfare activities across the State. Adding that the woman-folk was playing vital role in realizing the targets of the Red Cross Society.
Smt. Dhumal called upon the members of the Welfare Section to make persistent efforts in rendering best possible services and succour to the needy at the time of natural calamities and illness so that the objective of the section is well achieved. She emphasized on organizing blood donation camps more frequently and extensively in all parts of the State. Besides holding Red Cross Melas on the occasions of International Women’s as well as Red Cross Days to organize different welfare programmes.
The Executive Committee of the Hospital Welfare Section was also organized in which Smt. Madhu Bindal and Smt. Nirja Shukla were unanimously appointed Vice Chairpersons, besides appointing Dr. Anju Minhas, Smt. Malvika Nadda, Smt. Tripta Verma and Dr. G.P. Kapoor as Members of the Executive Committee whereas Smt. Nirta Akre as Honorary Secretary and Smt. Roopa Sharma, Smt. Bimla Kashyap and Smt. Neelam were nominated as Members.
Earlier, Shri Uttam Singh Thakur, Secretary of the Section welcomed the Chief Guest and detailed out different activities being carried out by the Hospital Welfare Section.
Smt. Sudha Bhardwaj wife of Shri Suresh Bhardwaj, MLA and Smt. Roop Sharma, President, BJP,Mahila Morcha were also present among others.
