Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister said that Union Minister for Environment Shri Jai Ram Ramesh would visit the Renuka Dam site to explore the possibility for availability of water for National capital Delhi.
Chief Minister was speaking in the function organised to honour the former students of Vidya Bharati Education Institute at Vrindaban in Uttar Pradesh today. He said that all possibilities would be explored to provide safe drinking water to Delhi after completion of all codal formalities, the construction work of Renuka Project would be undertaken. He said that all efforts would be made to cleanse the Yamuna water at own level and supported the campaign to keep Yamuna water uncontaminated.Prof. Dhumal emphasising the need for perseveration of environment, said that environment preservation was a global issue and even the western nations had realised the importance of celebration of Earth Day, Mother Day and Environment Day, which formed the part of rich Indian culture and heritage since time immemorial.
He said that there was a need to inculcate moral values amongst the students to make them responsible citizens of the country instead of associating education only for employment and other means.
Expressing concern over the distortion of Indian culture by westernization, Chief Minister said that it was being done with the motive to demoralise every Indian that the Aryans were not the original inhabitants of India and it was always ruled by outsiders. He said that this was contrary to the facts as it has been proved scientifically that Aryans originated from India itself.
He said that some so called secularists had even termed the epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata as imaginary religious collections, but it strengthened the faith of every Indian when the episodes were broadcast on Doordarshan. He stressed upon to reflect every religion in its true form and spirit.
Chief Minister stressed the need for expansion of such institutions like Vidya Bharati and urged the students to maintain association with these educational institutions so that the coming generation could also take inspiration for maintaining the moral values and Indian culture.
Earlier, Chief Minister paid his obeisance at the historic temples of “Banke Bihari, Radha Vallabha and Ranga Nath Ji in holy city of Vrindaban. He was accompanied by top leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parshad, BJP, religious saints and other eminent citizens during his visit to the holy temples of the town.
Chief Minister also evinced keen interest in the architecture, ancient history and religious importance of the temples which are the attraction of crores of the Hindu devotees across the globe.
