Chandigarh: July 14-A 3-day workshop for Journalists of Haryana is being organized by the Institute of Mass Communication and Media Technology of Kurukshetra University in the Senate hall of the university from July 16. Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupunder Singh Hooda will be the Chief Guest and Mr. Shekhar Gupta,Editor-in-Chief, Indian Express would deliver the keynote address during the inaugural session on July 16.
The Chief Minister would also lay the foundation stone of the buildings of the Mass Com Institute and University Institute of Engineering and Technology to be built at a cost of Rs two crore and Rs seven crore respectively.Resource persons from various parts of the country will deliver lectures in the orientation programme on different themes. The first session of the programme has the theme of importance of local media and its implications. Chief News Editor of The Tribune Mr. Nidhesh Tyagi and the Associate Professor in the Institute of Mass Communication Dr Anand Pradhan would enlighten on the above mentioned theme. Prof T.R. Kundu Former Professor and Head Chairperson, Department of Economics, Kurukshetra University and Mr D.R. Chaudhary, Member, Administrative Reforms Commission, Haryana would express their views about socio-economic milieu of Haryana in the evening session the same day. He said that on July 17, the speakers would be the Editor of Mohallalive.com Mr. Avinash and Mr. Vivek kumar, reporter from Deutesch Welle radio, Germany. In the second session, speakers Mr Ashish Pandey, Editor, Navbharat Times Metro Edition and Mr. PK Modi, Former Indian Express News Editor will be the key speakers. They will speak about the reporting skills and its nuances.
Mr. Shiv Raman Gaur,Director, Department of Information Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, Haryana and Prof. Rajbir Singh, Director, Institute of Mass Communication and Media Technology, Kurukshetra University would also express their views. The valedictory session is at 12 noon on July 18 in which the Vice Chancellor of Kurukshetra University,Kurukshetra, Dr D.D. S. Sandhu would be the Chief Guest and Mr. Shiv Raman Gaur would deliver Valedictory speech.
