Chandigarh, December 12 – MP from Rohtak Mr Deepender Singh Hooda today expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for approving the proposal of Pardhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana under which 1100 km long new roads would be built in rural areas of Haryana.
MP Mr Deepender Singh Hooda said this after meeting with the Prime Minister at Delhi today. MP from Sirsa Dr Ashok Tanwar was also with him. He also invited the Prime Minister to lay the foundation stone of Nuclear Power Plant to be set up at Gorakhpur in district Fatehabad and Global Centre for Nuclear Energy Partnership at Jasorkheri in NCR. It may be recalled that a delegation of congress MPs of Haryana had met with the Prime Minister regarding approval of the scheme a few days ago.
He said that about 2800 MW of electricity would be produced in nuclear power plant to be set up at Gorakhpur. He said that similarly scientists from across the globe would make new inventions related to nuclear energy at the Global Centre for Nuclear Energy Partnership to be set up at Jasorkheri.
He said that during the year 2010, Haryana, Goa, Punjab, Gujarat and Maharashtra were excluded from Pardhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana. He said that now phase two of the scheme has been launched under which 75 per cent of the total expenditure would be incurred by Union Government and the remaining 25 per cent by the state government. He said that the scheme has played an important role in the development of rural areas and Haryana was devoid of its benefit. He said that good quality of sampark roads in the rural areas of the state would lead to over all development of rural areas as these roads facilitate the movement of raw material and finished industrial products from one place to another.
