Chandigarh, May 2- The process of nominations for elections to Municipal Corporation Gurgaon (MCG) ended today and till now a total of 456 nominations have been filed. On the last day today, a maximum of 268 nominations were filed. The maximum number of 21 nominations were filed from Ward No. 23 while minimum number of 6 nominations were filed from each of the Ward No. 8 and 11 which are reserved for women from general category. Some candidates have filed more than one set of nomination on different days so the actual number of candidates in fray will be clear only after the scrutiny of nominations.
According to the Returning Officer, a candidate can file 4 sets of nomination papers but he is required to deposit Security and attach documents only once. The security for general candidate is Rs 3000 while the security for SC, BC or woman candidate is Rs 1500. He said the candidates would be furnishing information in the prescribed format to the concerned ARO that he is not suffering from any disqualification before 11.00 AM on 3rd May. After that the nomination papers would be scrutinised. He said that the candidates can withdraw their candidature between 11.00 AM and 3.00 PM on 4th May, after which symbols would be allotted to them on the same day.The nomination process which started on 28 April ended today and on the last day maximum number of nominations were filed. As per the report from Returning officer’s office those who filed nominations today include Rambir Singh, Narain Sharma, Bir Singh, Pinky, Samay Singh, Raj Kumar, Ramavtar Rana, Rishiraj Rana, Ritesh Saini from Ward No.l while Rajbir Yadav, Ravinder Yadav, Vipin Jain, Mahesh, Ravita Rana, Ashok Kumar, Ranjeet Singh and KL Arora filed their nominations from Ward No. 02. Similarly, Brahma, Saroj Devi, Sarita Yadav, Anita Yadav, Lalita Devi, Madhu, Kamlesh Yadav, Poonam Yadav, Monika Yadav, Mukesh, Babita Devi and Munesh Devi from Ward No. 03, Raj Singh, Sanjeev Yadav, Naresh Yadav, Hansraj, Vimal Yadav, Kamal Yadav, Gangaram, Naresh Kumar, Saroj Sarwan from Ward No. 04, Parkash Chand, Devender Singh, Rajnesh Dahiya, Bahadur Singh and Kanta Ahlawat from Ward No. 05, Anshika Jangu and Manju Chauhan filed nomination from Ward No. 06.
