Chandigarh April 30 – Union Urban Development Minister Mr Kamal Nath today said that the feasibility study for the high speed train on Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rohtak-Hisar track would be conducted under the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). Earlier while speaking in the Parliament, Mr Deepender Singh Hooda said that the feasibility study of high speed train on the Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rohtak-Hisar route should be approved. He said that the RRTS on Delhi-Panipat and Delhi-Meerut route has already been approved.
Mr Hooda demanded three metro routes on Mundka-Bahadurgarh, Dwarka-Nazabgarh-Badli and Jahangirpuri-Kundli. The Minister said that the Mundka-Bahadurgarh and Dwarka-Nazabgarh have been approved.
Mr Hooda said that NCR contribute to 20 per cent of the national GDP, so the priority should be given on infrastructure development in the NCR area. He said that the norms of 50:50 costs sharing between centre and state should be followed for future projects. He said that the uniform formula should be adopted. Haryana Government was left with no option other than bearing 80 per cent cost of the Faridabad metro project. Otherwise the metro routes to Gurgaon, Faridabad and Bahadurgarh should be known as Haryana Metro, he added.
Mr Hooda demanded that the Panchkula should also be included in the JNNURM package for Chandigarh UT. He said that the Chandigarh region included Mohali and Panchkula. He urged that Rs 6000 crore package for Panchkula is pending and it should be cleared at the earliest.
