Curtains draw close on 24th Mango Mela at Pinjore Gardens on Sunday evening. Sh. Dhanpat Singh, Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Haryana, Agriculture Department, the Chief Guest at the Closing-Cum-Prize Distribution Ceremony of the Mango Mela gave away awards to the mango growers competing under different categories.
Sh. Dhanpat Singh congratulated the winners of the mango growers at the Mango Mela.
Sh. Sandeep Garg, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism Corporation stated in his speech stated that this year the Mela had received 3,419 entries from mango growers, surpassing the records of the previous years and the footfall for the Mela for two days has been stupendous too. He also applauded the efforts of Haryana Tourism for the smooth and successful organizing of the Mela.
Mrs Manita Malik, General Manager (Administration), Haryana Tourism was also present on the occasion.
Following which, the Chief Guest gave away prizes to the mango growers. Soyab Mango Cultivation, Raipur, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh and Tafjeel Agri Business Nawab Mango, Uttar Pradesh bagged first and second prizes in Aam Kesri in which they won Rs 15,000 and Rs 11,000 plus shield and certificate respectively.
An enthralling evening cultural programme was presented by the artistes of North Zone Culture Centre, Patiala.
