Chandigarh, October 29 : Haryana Police has caught a person carrying 950 grams of opium and he has been identified as Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Mandi Dabwali in district Sirsa. He was arrested after the police put up special check-points at various places in the district.
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Police Department said that the Police had taken his motorcycle as well as the opium in its custody and registered a case against him in the Police Station of Sadar Dabwali. The accused was now being interrogated for further information.
He said that two more persons, Amrik Singh of district Bathinda and Balwinder Singh of Bhima in district Sirsa had also been arrested with 900 grams of Poppy Husk and a case had been registered against them in the Police Station of Sadar Dabwali.
He said that the case of theft of an EDUSAT system from the Government Senior Secondary School in Khairpur had also been solved and a person, identified as Rakesh alias Raku of district Fatehabad had been arrested in this connection. During interrogation, Rakesh also revealed the name of his accomplice, Kalu, a resident of district Fatehabad. The two accused had also been involved in the breaking of an ATM machine in Ding Mandi on the night of October 25, the spokesman added.
