The India Post Team,Chandigarh, June 26 : The Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Ltd. has decided to increase the milk purchase rates by Rs. five per kg fat from existing Rs. 260 per kg fat to Rs. 265 per kg fat with effect from June 25, 2008.
While stating this here today, the Haryana Cooperation Minister, Mr.Harmohinder Singh Chatha said that the decision had been taken in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Federation.
Mr.Chatha said that the rate of the milk had been increased because during the summer season milk production decreases considerably and to encourage the farmers to sell their milk to Dairy Cooperative Societies it had become necessary to increase the milk purchasing
rates. With the increase in the milk rates farmers would get extra amount of 30 to 50 paise per kg of milk, he added.
