Chandigarh, September 2-The Congress has decided to put the BJP government, led by Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal Khattar, on the mat in the Vidhan Sabha for its various acts of omission and commission and on various issues of public interest.
The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) which met here today, decided to raise such issues as loss of the cotton crop due to whitefly, problems faced by the pensioners in the state, the condition of educational qualification imposed for PRI polls, pending payment of sugarcane
growers, schemes scraped by the state government, and the issue of rice millers on the verge of shut-down. Other issues which were discussed include failure of Swachh Haryana Mission, hike in power tariff, deaths in a wall collapse in Mahendergarh and inquiry into the stone crushers being run illegally across the state .
The meeting, called by CLP leader, Ms Kiran Choudhry, where Dr Shakeel Ahmad, General Secretary of the Indian National Congress, was also present, was attended by Mr Ashok Tanwar, President of Haryana
Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), Ms Asha Kumari, AICC secretary and all Congress MLAs from Haryana.
Ms Choudhry said the members discussed various issues of public interest to be raised by the party in the Vidhan Sabha. The MLAs have submitted questions and Calling Attention Motions and want discussion on all recent issues pertaining to the welfare of the public.
Among those present were former chief minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Dr Karan Singh Dalal, Mr Kuldeep Sharma, Mr Randeep Singh Surjewala, Ms Geeta Bhukkal, Dr Raghubir Singh Kadian, Mr Anand Singh Dangi, Mr Jagbir Singh Malik, Mr Jaivir Singh, Mr Jai Tirath Dahiya, Ms Shakuntla Khatak, Mr Udai Bhan, Mr Lalit Nagar and Sri Krishan Hooda.
