Chandigarh, March 10—The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, has called upon the people of the state to maintain peace, mutual brotherhood and harmony and not submit to any provocations.
In an appeal issued here today in connection with the agitation spearheaded by some people on the issue of reservations, Mr Hooda said that all citizens had the right to voice their aspirations but in a peaceful manner and within the limits of the law of the land. “All problems can be solved only by dialogue as violence will never help”, Mr Hooda said.
The Chief Minister said that some people had blocked rail and road transport in a District of the State to press their demand for reservation. This has not only caused lot of inconvenience to the common man but also affected the supply of oil, electricity, medicines, food products and other essential commodities, he added.
While reiterating his appeal for maintaining peace and brotherhood, Mr Hooda said, “Protection of life and property of every citizen is the duty of the state government. Nobody should take the law into one’s hands, and not let such divisive forces, who want to destroy the social fabric of the state, to succeed in their selfish ulterior motives” the Chief Minister said.
