Raipur : Chhattisgarh will operate Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Shaksha Gunavatta Abhiyan. The quality of education will be improved in due course of time. The Gram Sabhas will evaluate the quality of education. The School Education Department will appoint an officer to guide the Gram Sabhas. Special Gram Sabhas will be conducted to evaluate the quality of education standards. There are four to five schools in each Gram Panchayats and hence Gram Sabhas will be held in two different days. The gradings will be in four categories.
The State will encourage the usage of LED lamps by distributing 16 lakh lamps to BPL card-holders free of cost and 18 lakh LED lamps to APL card-holders.
The Cabinet has decided to scrap the committees formed earlier to purchase drugs and medical equipment by the Medical and Family Welfare Department and Medical Education. The Committee was formed in November 2007 under the leadership of Chief Secretary for the purchase of drugs. The Cabinet has decided to open Super-specialties Hospital and Department at the D.K.S.Bhawan. The institution will work on the public-private partnership basis. The Cabinet has ordered the Health Department to take strict disciplinary action against those doctors and employees who were responsible for the deaths of 13 women during the family planning camps at Sakri in Bilaspur district on 8 November 2014 and Gorela , Pendra and Marwahi on 10 November 2014. Several women were hospitalized for post-operative care at various hospitals in Bilaspur. The panel which was constituted to probe into the fiasco found gross irregularities in medicines and negligence on the part of doctors. The companies which supplied the drugs will be dealt as per Law.
The Cabinet decided to exempt VAT on fabrics and sugar by one per cent. It has been decided to establish Centre of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) at Raipur. There are 22 centres in various parts of the country. The plastic industry will benefit from the Centre.
