Manoj Kumari Godara, Chandigarh, 14th June 2010: Srijana, A 10-day Workshop organized by NSS units of the college concluded today. Around 40 special children from various institutes like Mother Teresa Missionaries of Charity, Sector 23, Chandigarh, Savera- Short Stay Home , SOREM and other Institutes of the city participated in the workshop. The children were taught music, dance, paper mache, art and craft, bag stitching, pot painting etc. During the workshop the children were also taken for excursion at Shanti Kunj, Chandigarh. On the concluding day, a comedy movie was shown to them. The children presented a cultural programme on the occasion and the articles prepared by the children during the workshop were also displayed in the exhibition. Dr. Jyoti Khanna, Principal of the college said that the workshop is the annual feature of the college. The main objective of the workshop is to develop the inner potential of these children and provide them with a platform to express their feelings. However, the children from various institutes also get an opportunity to interact with each other and learn many things despite their disabilities. The chief Guest of the concluding day was Mr.G.S.Bhatti,Assistant Programme Advisor N.S.S., Regional Centre, Chandigarh appreciated the earnest efforts of the college to initiate such programme for the special children.
