Chandigarh October 2, 2012. Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Ex-MP and National Incharge of the Legal & Legislative Cell of the BJP, while strongly condemning the incident of “thrashing of a couple” by the staff of the Administrator of Chandigarh during Jan Darbar on Monday, has urged the Administrator to apologise to the couple as well as the people of Chandigarh for this type of shameful incident.
In a statement issued here today, Sh. Jain said that let the Administrator understand that he is a Public Servant in a Democratic setup and not a Dictator in any Dictatorial type of Government and therefore, this type of highly deplorable act by his staff, with even a common man is totally intolerable.
Mr. Jain said that the 8 year rule of the congress in the centre has left the common man to the mercy of the bureaucracy and there is no body in Chandigarh to listen to their grievances. Earlier the city MP and a Central Minister has been repeatedly saying that the officers do not listen to them and now right from congress Mayor, congress councillors to every congress leader has also started saying the same thing. He said that it is the duly of the Congress (I) leaders who are ruling in Delhi and Chandigarh to get work out of the bureaucracy in which they have utterly failed.
Mr. Jain said that the Administrators appointed by BJP Government used to repeatedly visit various parts of the city to know the problems of the people whereas the Administrator appointed by the Congress(I) Government is neither holding the meetings of the Advisory Council regularly, nor his Jan Darbar; he is not even meeting people and if someone is able to reach him, he is thrashed by his security-staff.
Mr. Jain said that the city MP, who has been up in arms against all the last 4-5 Administrators of Chandigarh, why is he silent now on such a deplorable attitude of the present Administrator. Is it because both of them have Congress background? He asked the Congress(I) and city MP to clarify their stand on the current situation and ask their PM and the Central Congress(I) Government to act and take corrective measure.
