Chandigarh 22 Nov, 2014: Today, Satinder Singh, Councilor Ward No. 18 of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation was organized the programme where the 15 Safai Karamcharis were honored for their good work. Municipal Commissioner Sh. V.K. Singh was the Chief Guest, Sah-Prant Karawa of RSS (Social organization) Sh. Amrit Sagar, Mukesh Aggarwal Joint- Commissioner of MC and Parminder Singh Bhatti were also present as special guests of this function.
Stage comparing was conducted by Sh. Mukesh Sharma of Punjabi films flame and in this program many dignitaries and well known personalities of the ward are present on the occasion.
Program started with the nation song “Vande Matram”, thereafter all the guest are welcomed with a bouquet of flowers. While addressing the public Councilor Satinder Singh had said that these Safai Karmchari had not only done their duty being a duty but they had render the selfless service to the public and society, which is commendable and a example for all of us. He had quoted the Prime Minister Narinder Modi vision that by 2020 India would be a Sawach Bharat means there would be proper sanitation and our coming generation would be saved from many deadly deceases. He further said that Prime Minister Narinder Modi wants to fulfill the Sawach Bharat, dream of Mahatma Gandhi and for this it was our duty to keep our surroundings clean and hygienic and do not litter garbage here and there.
On this occasion Sh. Amrit Sagar of RSS said that it was his honour that from his hands he was honouring those persons who are collecting the garbage thrown by us and further said that we should clean our toilets our self and teach same to our children so that they also know the importance of cleanliness, do not litter garbage.
Sh. V.K. Singh Commissioner MC had congratulated the Councilor Satinder Singh for organizing this program and said that these programs encourage the Safai karamcharis and enthuse the moral of the employees. He also informed that Chandigarh was declared as the best clean city of India by the India Today Group. He also promised that all the demands and needs of the ward residents will be solved in the short period.
