Archit Watts, Chandigarh, August 14 : Taking steps to get regular power supply in the Punjab, the Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee (PPCC) in the state has decided to go on an agitation from August 16 by staging dharnas at all district and sub-divisional headquarters.
It is pertinent to mention here that the state is facing a grim power supply. “PPCC will stage dharnas at all district headquarters from August 16 and also lay seize of offices of electricity board to protest against the failure of the Punjab government led by SAD-BJP alliance, on power front,” said PPCC spokesperson Ashwini Sekhri.
“The present government has failed miserably to provide electricity to the common people and industries, which are continuously facing long hours of undeclared power cuts,” he added.
Seeking resignation of Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, Sekhri said, “The Congress in the state is fully geared up to arrange electricity, only if Badal resigns.”
