Chandigarh 2nd May : The Management Committee of PGI Employees Union Benevolent Fund Scheme has honoured 73 retired employees in a Farewell Function held in the Bhargava Auditorium today.
Dr. Jagat Ram, Director, PGI attended as Chief Guest at the function besides Dr. G. D. Puri, Acting Dean, Dr. Ajit Avasthi, Prof. Incharge Engineering & Planning, Sh. Amitabh Avasthi, IAS, Deputy Director Administration, Sh. Kumar Abhay, Financial Adviser, Sh. Jiwan Kapur, AGM, SBI, PGI attended as Guest of Honour. Sh. Sat Pal Bhardwaj, Ex-Chairman, PGI Employees Union, Sh. Sunil Dutt Sharma, Ex-president of Union and many prominent workers were also present.
The Chief Guest and Guest of Honours handed over the Mementos, Gift (Safari Strolley) and amount of their entire contribution / subscription to 73 retired employees in the Bhargava Auditorium, PGI.
More than 1200 employees / officers attended the grand farewell function besides Guests.
The Director, PGI was requested to extend a one time grant-in-aid of Rs. 1 crore to the PGI Employees Union Benevolent Fund Scheme to further strengthen its fundamentals.
Dr. Jagat Ram, DPGI, Sh. Amitabh Avasthi, DDA and Sh. Kumar Abhay, Financial Adviser in their address lauded the Benevolent Fund Scheme. Dr. Jagat Ram, DPGI and Sh. Amitabh Avasthi, DDA assured the gathering that they will take up the case with Apex Bodies to sanction the grant for BFS.
