Chandigarh 28th October; The PGI Administration has cheated and betrayed the Union by not appointing a PS/PPS in place of Sh. Swarnjit Singh Saini, Ex-PPS to deal with the cases and file of Group B, C and D employees as promised in February, 2012. Further, the PGI Administration has made mockery of the decision of Governing Body dated 28.4.2012 with regard to the payment of salary to Sh. Swarnjit Singh Saini, Ex-PPS/OSD/Consultant.
On 28.4.2012, the Governing Body, while ratifying the appointment as decided as under;
“The Governing Body ratified the approval of the President for engagement of Sh. Swarnjit Saini as Consultant to work as OSD to the Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh w.e.f. 1.2.2012 for one year only subject to condition that this would be the last extension after which his engagement be treated as over. The Governing Body further decided that the lumpsum amount to be paid should be Rs. 55000/- per month or the difference between the last pay drawn and his pension, whichever is lower.”
The last pay of Sh. Swarnjit Saini was about Rs. 40,200 and he was sanctioned the pension of Rs. 20,100, therefore, he will now get Rs. 20,100 w.e.f. 1.2.2012 instead of Rs. 55,000. Since, the appointment was subject to ratification of Governing Body, therefore, the recoveries of excess amount paid to the tune of about Rs., 35,000 per month were to be made from him 1.2.2012 but the DPGI has sanctioned him the salaru of Rs. 60,00 besides pension plus dearness relief.
On 31.10.2012, the employees will present Roses and Farewell Card to Mr. Swarnjit Singh Saini, PPS at 11 am and 4 pm requesting him to leave PGI. On 5th and 8th November, he will again be presented roses and farewell card.
On 8th November, the PGI employees will take out another candlelight march in support of their longstanding demands ad grievances without causing disruption of patient care services.
The Union regrets that the PGI Administration has forced the Union to adopt the path of confrontations.
