Presenting appreciation certificates to women volunteers of Yuvsatta, Sandeep Mittal, Dy. Director, TI, State AIDS Control Society, Chandigarh said that these selected 18 women associates of Yuvsatta will spread the information with regard to de-addiction, counseling & medical services available in the city among their targeted area of Bapu Dham Colony, Manimajra, Colony No. 4 & Daria village. They’ll also be motivating the family members of drug addicts to deal with the affected person with love & care instead of anguish & apathy. As recovering from drug addiction is much easier when one has people one can lean on for encouragement, comfort, and guidance. And the earlier addiction is treated, the better.
Sharing his views Parmod Sharma, Coordinator of Yuvsatta said that dealing with a drug addict can be surprisingly similar to dealing with a salesperson, as they tend to be manipulative and persistent. The main thrust of there programme of appointing special ‘Happiness Doctors’ is to reach-out to families of drug addicts with correct information, to strengthen the ties of addicts to their family and community and get the community to cooperate in the rehabilitation process.
