The India Post, Chandigarh, 10th February, 2009 : The 15th National Adventure Festival (NAF) concluded today in Haryana Panchayat Bhawan, Chandigarh. UT Home Secretary, Mr. Ram Niwas was the chief guest on the occasion.
Lauding the efforts of National Adventure Club, Mr. Niwas said that adventure activities channelizes the energy of the youth towards positive direction. He interacted with the participants of the Festival and exhorted them to spread the message of communal harmony and peaceful co-existence of all sections of society.
Mr. Niwas gave away the prizes to the best performers of the Adventure Festival and also to the Team Leaders. As many as, 326 young boys and girls from 11 states and UTs including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttrakhand, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Orissa, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal participated in the festival. Special Encouragement Prize of Rs. 5100 was given to Baby Ritvika (2 years and 4 months) from Gwalior who participated in adventure activities.
Adventure activities like River Rafting and Parasailing, Rock Climbing, Rifle shooting & Archery and Snow skiing were organized during the Festival. National Adventure Club organizes NAF every year in collaboration with Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India.
