S.P.Pandey, Chandigarh, April 27, 2009: Mr Harmohan Dhawan, Former Union Minister and BSP candidate from Chandigarh, today criticized the Chandigarh Administration for not even making necessary provisions of drinking water at the rally ground of sector 25 here, where BSP national president Behan Kumari Mayawati will address a massive rally at 3 PM tomorrow.
Terming the stage unfit for the rally, he demanded to erect a better stage. Mr Dhawan blamed that the newly constructed stage had a 3 feet high wall around it, which may hinder the view of the VIPs sitting above it. The administration later agreed to demolish the obstructing wall.
After inspecting the rally ground, Mr Dhawan said the ground lacked proper infrastructure and lacked even the basic provision of toilet and drinking water. BSP has renamed the ground on the name of the great social reformer Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. The whole area has been covered by a huge pandal and is being carpeted to accommodate thousands of people. Party flags are being placed everywhere at the rally ground.
Mr Dhawan informed that hundreds of party workers from villages, colonies and sector areas will give a tumultuous welcome to the party supreme at the airport, from where she would be directly drove into the rally ground.
Mr Dhawan addressed two public rallies at Bapudham Colony and Manimajra, while his better half, Mrs Satinder Dhawan led an impressive rally of the BSP Women Wing at Sector 7 here. Mr Dhawan also attended an Akhand Paath organized by the Water Supply Workers Union at Industrial Area phase 1.
