Chandigarh, 4 Jan : Experts from Punjabi print & electronic media participated in 2nd World Punjabi Media Conference was held at Punjab Kala Bhawan Chandigarh .
Harcharan Bains, Media Advisor to CM Punjab emphasised need to give stress on the upliftment of Punjabi language. He also reiterated Punjab Govt’s stand for the betterment of Punjabi. Mrs Harjinder Kaur Chairperson Punjab Arts Council lauded the role of World Punjabi Televsion/Radio Academy for providing a platform to discuss the issues concerning Punjabi media across the world. Mr Satnam Manak resident editor Daily Ajit in his keynote address warned the media about the downfall of Punjabi language & stressed introspection in this regard. Prof Kulbir Singh Chairman of the academy highlighted the activities of his organisation.
Bhupinder Singh Malik co-ordinator of conference called for creating a balance between various media persons to resolve issues requiring immediate attention. Mr Pritam Singh Rupal while conducting the inaugural session discussed the role of media in the overall development in the society. Various media persons shared their view point on topics including ‘Media Ethics & Punjabi Media’ & ‘Punjabi Language & Punjabi Media’. These included prominent journalists Gobind Thukral, Baljit Balli, Gurjatinder Singh Randhawa, Harbans Sodhi, S D Sharma, Parminder Tiwana, Kanwaljit Singh Kanwal, Balwinder Jammu, Daljit Sandhu, Mohinder Singh, Daljit Singh Sra, Jaspal Singh Sidhu.
