Chandigarh 16 April: In an effort to eradicate illiteracy in slums/villages in and around Chandigarh Citizens Association for Relief Education & Services (CARES) are running two “Female Literacy Programmes” with title “ROSHNI” at their Dhanas and New Janta Colony with the Financial Support of Rotary Club Chandigarh.
S/Sh. David C. Forward, Rolf Wilkin, Larry Long alongwith other members of the Rotary International visited Dhanas Centre. Where over 25 women from age group of 20 to 60 yrs. are learning “How to Read and Write” in Hindi from the very beginning. Water filter equipment was provided at Dhanas Centre at a Simple Function which was attended by President Rotary Club Mrs. Neena Singh alongwith S/Sh. B.M. Singh, A.P. Singh, Desh Deepak Khanna and other members of the Rotary International.
