Chandigarh, November 29, 2010: Mr. Satya Pal Jain, National Incharge of Legal & Legislative Cell of the BJP and city Ex-MP, today accused the present Congress (I) leaders and rulers of the country of completely ignoring the common man, the poor working class and the labourers, while framing their pro-rich policies which is resulting into rich becoming richer and poor becoming poorer.
Mr. Jain was addressing mammoth rallies of footpath workers in Sector 20 and of labourers in Colony No. 5 Chandigarh, organized by their respective unions. Thousands of Labourers and footpath workers from different parts of the city participated in these huge rallies.
Mr. Jain said that during last Lok Sabha elections, the Congress (I) leaders, including Smt. Sonia Gandhi, had promised that all the poor persons living in Chandigarh, who do not have their own houses, would be rehabilitated and that footpath workers, who are providing essential services of daily life to the citizens, will be provided Identity Cards and permanent places to work. However, what to talk of fulfilling these promises, the Congress(I) rulers are not ready to even listen to them, leaving them just at the mercy of their luck.
Mr. Jain said that those who got votes in the last Lok Sabha Election in the name of improving the lot of a common man, are today nowhere to be seen, when the common man is suffering the most because of immense price rise, the threat of demolition to their houses, deteriorating law and order situation, rising unemployment and high scale retrenchment of jobs etc. etc. The present rulers seem to have left the common man at the mercy of either of his own luck or God, he said.
Among those who were present on this occasion included Union President Sh. Ram Milan Gaur, BJP leaders Sh. Bhim Sain Aggarwal and Sh. Mohinder Chouwdhary.
