Chandigarh : In a very first event of its kind that a pilgrimage to ‘Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib, Nanded and ‘Nanak Jhira Sahib, Bidar’ will commence from Chandigarh to Nanded and back on a dedicated train, which otherwise only used to depart from New Delhi. About 1400+ passengers are on board this train for the one-week pilgrimage from 22nd Dec to 28th Dec, the bookings for which were closed more than a month earlier. The entire endeavor is undertaken by members of a Chandigarh-based socio-religious organization, Mata Tripta ji Charitable Trust ®, in association with another organization, Guru Nanak Phulwari (GNP).
The event is a dream come true for several hundred of aspiring people including the aged and the underprivileged who have been longing to visit the sacred shrines but could not because of the absence of any such convenient arrangement before. About 50 children of Guru Aasra Trust and several other needy are also being offered free seats for this pilgrimage by various GNP members, who have not just contributed through tireless efforts but also contributed financially to for the purpose.
Bhai Arvinderjit Singh (popularly known as Veerji) Chief organizer of the mega event, further added that all provisions like the Medical-Aid, preparation and distribution of community-kitchen (i.e., Langar) services inside the train, hygiene and other essentials have been arranged by efforts of GNP members to ensure smooth and comfortable for the 30-hour Chandigarh-Nanded journey. The train leaving from Chandigarh will have pilgrims not only from Chandigarh, Mohali, Derabassi, Panchkula and other areas in Punjab, but from overseas (like USA, Australia and Canada) too. Another 2 bogies (compartments) will be added at New Delhi railway station for the passengers boarding from there.
Sri Hazoor Sahibis the principal and one of the most sacred Sikh shrines and a TakhatatNandedin Maharashtra. It marks the site where tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh ji laid his final camp for propagation of spiritual, moral and martial traits. Guru ji left for his heavenly abode in 1708 after announcing the installation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib as the perpetual Guru of the Sikhs to be followed forever. Recently, in 2008, the whole Nation marked 300 years of the coronation of Guru Grant Sahib at Nanded in a very memorable, befitting and stupendous manner.
Gurdwara Nanak Jhira Sahib is a Sikh historical shrine situated inBidar, inKarnataka and is visited by half a million pilgrims every year. It is the place where Guru Nanak dev ji unleashed with his toe, a fountain of cool gushing water from the hillside bringing a great relief to misery of local people caused due to the acute water shortage in the region before Guru Nanak’s visit.
