CHANDIGARH, FEB 21 :The DP Azad Cricket Academy will recruit fresh trainees from March 1. Giving this information here today, Azad Academy Director Dronacharya Desh Prem Azad said that admission would be given on first-come-first-serve basis.
Twenty players each in the age groups of 8-10, 11-14 and 15 to 16 years would be enrolled to provide scientific training. "Our main stress would be on making the trainees fundamental strong," said Azad, coach of cricket icon Kapil Dev Nikhanj, Yograj Singh, Ashok Malhotra and Chetan Sharma.
Azad said that from this season, the Academy would also provide hostel facilities to outstation trainees. An imported bowling machine would be as added feature of the academy which is based at St Stephen’s School in Sector 45. The Azad Academy is also having its branch at St Stephen’s School, Togan.
"We have also started video coaching to the boys. Their actions are analysed monthly and their progress in consistently monitored," said Azad.
