Barinder Saluja, Chandigarh,April 18 : Unlike many actors who would blame everyone but themselves for their flop films, here is one actor who has the guts to take the blame squarely on himself. Yes, we are talking about Abhishek Bachchan whose last release”GAME” turned turtle at the box office and AB baby is currently pinning all hopes on his next film “Dum Maro Dum”. Dressed up in Blue Jeans & White stripped shirt, wearing sun Glasses, Abhishek addressed a media & fans gathering at PVR, Cetra mall, Chandigarh today, and said, “If a film does not do well, I will blame myself for it. I don’t like the idea of finding excuses for flop shows because by doing so we are running away from improving ourselves. If a film does not do well it is an audience’s way of telling us that they don’t like what we have done. One should analyse the verdict, learn his lessons and move on. I am doing the same. The lesson that I have learnt is that it is very easy to become complacent with oneself and I am trying to take that thing to the next level now.” Looking very humble in his approach, Bachchan Baby joked around with the audience which shouted ‘abhishek we love you’, & very intelligently answered the querris of the media. He defended the character of ACP Vishnu Kamath (Abhishek Bachchan) and told media that he plays a self destructive cop fleeing his own past, Kamath is given the job of destroying the brutal local and international drug mafia in Goa. As he begins his ruthless, relentless campaign and takes on the murky drug world… he discovers nothing is what it seems. In all, he says, that the film will be quite a success. We all have worked hard and rest is left to the worthy audience to decide. On asking that has he, like his father, sung a song in this film, Abhishek said, “Yes I have lend my voice in this film too”.
DJ Joki (Rana Daggubati) another freshy, from south Indian films, is making his debut in this film. He told the media that he too was quite excited about the release of the film & he too is looking forward to it. He also described about his role (DJ Joki) in this film which is of a local musician and mute spectator to what is happening around him, Joki drifts aimlessly through life after an encounter with the drug mafia cost him everything he held dear. Today he discovers history has a nasty habit of repeating itself. Rest is “Dum maro Dum”, said Rana.
Director of the film, Rohan Sippy, being a part of the Producer family, when asked about the controversy in Goa, said, “that all has been resolved and the verdict was in our favour”. The producers of “Dum Maro Dum” had the last laugh as the Goa High Court, gave a green signal for the film’s release. The court dismissed the Petition filed against the film.
A few days back, GSCW, Goa state women’s commission made a complaint about a dialogue in the film, which they found bit insensitive to women. In the promos of the film, which are currently on air, there is a dialogue voice over on Goa saying ‘Yahan sharab sasti, ladkiyan use bhi sasti aur zindigi toh muft mein hi bik jaati hai’.
The Honorable Judge found that there were no grounds on which to pass any Order based on the facts asserted in the Petition and the evidence placed on record in support of the Petition. The Honorable Court considered the detailed Affidavit in Reply filed on behalf of the Producers and Distributors and agreed with the contention raised therein that no grounds have been made out for the grant of any of the prayers prayed in the Petition.
Therefore the Honorable Court has thought fit to permit the release of the film as scheduled on April 22nd.
The other popular star cast is Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu, Vidya Balan, Prateik Babbar, Aditya Pancholi & Govind Namdeo. The film has been produced by Ramesh Sippy, Directed By Rohan Sippy, Music by Pritam.
