Big win for NDA in Bihar Legislative council elections; bags 13 seats, trouncing RJD -JDU combine in a politically crucial contest for the 24 seats; the victory a big boost for NDA ahead of this year Assembly Elections.
Elections to Bihar Legislative Council were dubbed as the semi final of Bihar political fight. And the first honours seems to have gobe to the BJP which has come out with much better results in these elections. Of the 24 seats that went to polls NDA bagged 13 places. The results have been a shot in the arm for the BJP.
Out of 24 seats, Janata Pariwar could manage only 12, while 2 went to Independent, out of which one is supported by the BJP.
In 2009 elections, 11 had gone to JDU, 4 to RJD and 5 to BJP, while 4 went to Independent supported by JDU. BJP was then restricted to only 5 seats.
