Ludhiana, 12 October, 2012: A seminar was organized in Sibia medical Center to create awareness about arthritis and its treatment on World Arthritis Day, which is celebrated every year on 12th October. It provides a platform for those affected by rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) to make their voices heard and to highlight some of the issues that people living with RMDs face. RMDs including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis affect men, women and children of all ages throughout the world.
The aims of World Arthritis Day are:-To raise awareness of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) amongst the medical community, people with RMDs and the general public.To influence public policy by making decision-makers aware of the burden of RMDs and the steps which can be taken to ease it.To ensure all people with RMDs and their caregivers are aware of the vast support network available to them.
