Chandigarh : On the 2nd day of National conference scientific session started with the talk of Ms.Jaspret Kaur on the topic importance of qualified Radiographer in patient care . She informed that patient care can be improved if approach of the Radiographer is scientific & only qualified Radiographer can have scientific approach. A Radiographer must have knowledge of clinical diagnosis & they should be taking patient history prior to start the procedure and should explain the procedure to patient to make him comfortable.
Sh.A.R.Uniyal from Dehradun presented his talk on Legal responsibilities and ethics of Radiographer. He explained basics of ethics to young Radiographer and advised them to follow them thoughout their career in the interest of patient care.
Dr.Jasmeet Singh Sahni presented his talk on Basics of contrast media and its adverse reactions. He told the delegates a small error in injecting contrast media can be life threatening. He explained that selection of contrast media is important and Radiographer must have good knowledge so that patient can be benefitted. He insisted that the level of Blood Urea & Creatinine should be checked and it should be ensures that the levels should be in normal limits.
Mr.Kamal Chaudhary presented his talk on dose reduction in CT. Dose can be reduced by performing CT by using latest software. These softwares helps in reducing the dose by 30-40% .
Mr. Mohd. Arafat from UP presented his talk on Evolution of CT and informed about latest developments in CT technology.
Mr.Sudheer Kumar from Ludhiana presented his paper on Interventional procedures for the management of Liver lesions.
Ms.Ritambhara from Chd explained the methods to remove artefacts fom the images. She informed that Radiographer should have knowledge of artefacts and take appropriate steps to remove artefacts from image so that correct diagnosis can be made for the treatment of patient.
A workshop on Quality Control & Radiation Safety was also organized by Ms Sara Tagris, from Sweden and 150 delegates participated in the workshop.She explained how a qualified radiographer can check quality assurance of X-ray machines so that scatter radiation can be stopped & quality of images can be improved.
Annual General body meeting of Society held at the end of scientific programme.The General body congratulated the organizing committee for organizing a succesful National conference and also fecilated the organizing committee.
The General body members thanks Union Health Minister Sh. JP Nadda ji for taking personal interests for formation of Allied health professional council.
The GBM ends with Vote of Thanks and next conference will be held in Hyderabad.
