Mohali, May 12, 2009, Specttrum News: International Nurses Day was celebrated with great joy at Ivy Multispeciality Hospital here today. The nursing staff of the hospital presented colourful cultural programmes on the occasion.Mr Gurtej Singh, CEO, Ivy Hospital said, “We are celebrating the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth in 1820. Nightingale founded the modern-day version of the profession, at a time when one didn’t need much training for the job.”
Dr Kanwal Deep, Medical Director, Ivy Hospital said, “At Ivy we take extra care of our staff. To make our nurses happy and to inspire them with the deeds of great Nightingale, we decided to celebrate the Nurses Day.”
The hall was full of nursing as well as other supporting staff, besides the doctors, when nurses presented dance items on popular Hindi numbers. They also presented Giddha and a skit. The programme started with the lighting of lamp by Mr Gurtej Singh.
