10 Aug : A high level review meeting to ward off possible threat of Swine Flu in the State was held here today under the chairmanship of Dr. Rajeev Bindal, Health Minister and arrangements were discussed to come over any situation if needed.
Dr. Bindal informed that till now no case of Swine Flu has come to light in Himachal Pradesh. He said that keeping in view the possible threat of Swine Flu in the State equipments such as Personal Protective Equipments, N-95 Masks has been made available in all district hospitals. He said that Isolation Wards have been made and arrangements of separate beds for the treatment of Swine Flu patients have been done in Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital Shimla and all district hospitals.
Dr. Bindal said that Tamiflu tablets in sufficient number were being made available which are used for treatment of Swine Flu disease. In addition testing facilities for Swine Flu would be made available within a week at CRI Kasauli by the Government of India. He said that facility to get Swine Flu samples tested in NICD, Delhi to each district hospital in the State had been made available and the test report from Delhi would be received next day.
Health Minister directed the doctors of all district hospitals to take samples for test of possible Swine Flu patients only after complete check up and establishment of History of Contact. He said that State Government has urged the Central Government to provide Swine Flu testing facilities at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College and Hospital also.
