7 Mar : With unqualified medical practitioners posing serious risks to the health of unsuspecting patients, Delhi Medical Council has launched an addition to its website, uploading the names of all registered doctors in the capital on Tuesday.
The latest list will enable all citizens to locate the right doctors in their localities, the council said.
"To know whether the doctor next door to you is a registered practitioner, you just need to log on to the website where you can locate that person by his name, address and his qualification," said Dr Girish Tyagi, Registrar, Delhi Medical Council.
The list, available on www.delhimedicalcouncil.nic.in, includes the names of all 40,000 doctors registered with the medical monitoring body and provides an ideal guide to people seeking such information.
"There are as many as 40,000 registered medical practitioners in Delhi, who have been listed by the DMC. The list that is available on our website aims at checking medical negligence and quackery," Tyagi said. The doctors can be located by entering their first or last names, their addresses and their qualifications.
