Dr. Avnish Jolly 6th November :People have more bacteria on their hands than they could have imagined which is of no major surprise. Establishing the amount of bacteria is still a step forward as it helps more exact diagnosing and offers people a chance to prevent developing some diseases they may be prone to, taking into consideration the evolution of bacteria on their hands. Men and women’s skin have different PH value.
It is prompting the different body sprays for daily use by different companies. recent studies have shown more physiological dissimilarities. University of Colorado has conducted a study regarding the amount and variety of germs that live on people’s hands. It seems, however, that women carry significantly more bacteria on their hands, as compared to men.
After researchers swapped the hands of 51 people, they found only 5 bacteria common to all. The total number, however, was of a whopping 4,700 species. It was also noticed that the species from your left hand differ from those on your right hand. The controversial conclusion was that women do not only have slightly more bacteria on their hands, but the diversity of the germs hosted by women’s hands was staggering. Most of the bacteria were neutral and thus, harmless.
It was also confirmed that washing hands does indeed reduce the amount of germs, but it leaves the variety almost the same, as the culture reforms in a matter of hours. Scientists are now working on determining what bacteria are normal to be found on people’s hands and which trigger an alarm when it comes to developing certain diseases.
