29 sep : Dr Jagat Ram, Professor of Ophthalmology, Advanced Eye Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh was awarded Gold Medal for Outstanding contribution in the field of Pediatric Cataract Surgery at the Annual Meeting of Maharashtra and Bombay Ophthalmological Society held at Mumbai from September 25-27, 2009. The meeting was attended by over 1600 ophthalmologists across the country. Prof Jagat Ram has performed several thousand pediatric cataract surgeries with intraocular lens implantation and managed several complicated pediatric cataracts. He has demonstrated current micro-surgical techniques at the various National and International scientific congresses. He also authored country’s first ever book on pediatric cataract surgery.
