Symposium organized by Department of Endocrinology, PGIMER, Chandigarh on 21st October 2012, was inaugurated by Director PGI, Prof Y.K Chawla. In the symposium national and international Faculty shared their views on endocrine disorder related to bone disorder, growth and puberty disorders. Around 100 delegates participated in the symposium.
Prof.Wim discussed details of bone formation and the pathogenesis of bone. He also threw light on possible future treatment in these disorder as well as various molecular diagnostic markers. He also emphasized on screening of the disease in family members by various new techniques.
Prof.Marta from London school of Barts discussed various aspects related to growth and Puberty and its disorders. She highlighted upon any available tissue to diagnose endocrine disorder.
Prof.Nalini Shah Head dept. of Endocrinology, KEM Hospital, Mumbai delivered a lecture on recent advances of Cushing’s disease with special reference to Indian Scenario.
Dr.Sridhar, alumni of PGIMER presently working in Darwin Hospital, Australia gave an overview on Diabetes insipidus and rare cause of hypertension- primary aldosteronism.
Prof Anil Bhansali, Head, Department of Endocrinology welcomed all the delegates and Dr Sanjay Bhadada, organizing secretary proposed the vote of thanks.
