June 6 :Several States have announced cut in taxes in view of increase in the prices of petroleum products. Andhra Pradesh Government decided to benefit large number of people by absorbing the increased 50 rupees on each cylinder of domestic LPG.
Haryana Government has announced a cut on VAT charged on petroleum products. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Huda told media persons in Chandigarh that now VAT on diesel will be 8.8 per cent which was earlier 12 per cent in the State.
The Assam Government has also reduced the price of both petrol and diesel by a rupee each per lire to provide some relief to consumers. In Meghalaya, the Chief Minister has asked the State Taxation department to examine reduction in sales tax on Petroleum products. Courtsey : AIR
