Chandigarh, Dec 23 –The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has described the results of the Assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir and Jharkhand as people’s victory over terrorism and Naxalism. The mandate the BJP has got in these states not only reflects the increased popularity of the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, but also of the
party in the entire country.
Giving his reaction on the election results, the Chief Minister said that after the Lok Sabha elections, 2014, the BJP had emerged as the biggest party in the states of Haryana, Maharashtra and Jharkhand and the second largest party in Jammu & Kashmir. The results virtually gagged those leaders and political analysts who used to say that BJP had no political base or cadre in these states.
“In the times to come, BJP would be the only party in the entire country whose membership will reach 10 crore. In Haryana, we have set the target of enrolling 1,11,111 members on the eve of the New Year”, he said.
It is for the first time since 1984 that a single party has formed government with full majority at the Centre. The BJP has achieved grand success under the leadership of the Prime Minister and election management made by the BJP President, Mr. Amit Shah. The Chief Minister expressed the hope that BJP would form government with full majority in the Delhi Vidhan Sabha elections.
