Speaking on the recently released book by Sanjaya Baru – The Accidental Prime Minister – Shri Modi said that the expose of the functioning in the PMO, made in the book, had made him regret his statements against the Prime Minister made in the past, since it was just one family who was responsible for the ruin the Nation witnessed. “I read in the papers that the PM family is unhappy with Sanjay Baru’s book. His daughter said Baru betrayed, which means the facts are right. I may have said some hard hitting things about the PM, but now I feel that I should not have said it as the cause of ruin is just one family,” said Shri Modi.
Shri Modi also criticized the immaturity of the Congress Vice President, by citing the Shahzaada’s reference to toffees in his recent speech, and affirmed that the Nation was in need of an experienced and responsible approach. Shri Modi stated that it was trophies that meant more to Shri Modi, and this was evident by the innumerable awards Gujarat had won in the past decade, from national and international organizations.
Shri Modi recalled Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji’s dreams of empowering the villages through linking roads with the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, and affirmed that the BJP would take a step forward and also ensure adequate availability of water for the villages by instituting the Pradhan Mantri Seechai Yojana. He further stated that the BJP Manifesto also had initiated the fixing of the Minimum Support Price for the farmer by adding 50 per cent profit to the input cost, and thereby enable them to sell their produce feasibly.
Modi thanked the people of Jharkhand for their appreciation for the project of Statue of Unity, initiated by Shri Modi in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Shri Modi acknowledged the support of the people, which, he said, had risen by manifold since his first visit to Jharkhand. He appealed to them to vote for Jayant Sinha and enable the BJP in forming a strong and stable government in Delhi. “We have a galaxy of leaders in BJP…each of them capable and devoted to nation building, be it Yashwantji, Advaniji, Sushmaji, Jaitleyji. By making Jayant victorious you will give me a very strong colleague in Delhi,” said Shri Modi.
