As you know our great national is celebrating Teacher’s Day today with great enthusiasm to commemorate the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakhrishnan, Former President, Vice-President, Ambassador, a philosopher and a teacher par excellence for his contribution towards Indian education system. Dr Radhakhrishnan believed that “teachers should be the best minds in the country”. On this day, we gratefully remember the great educationist as our beacon of light.I believe teachers are essential, rather indispensable, for the effective working of the educational system and develop a child not only academically, but socially and emotionally also. Let us all on this auspicious day rededicate ourselves to our vocation and reiterate our commitment to the cause of teaching and research and to bring down the rigid boundaries demarcating different disciplines by creating greater space for interdisciplinary communication and for an all inclusive growth of society.
It is my proud privilege and honour to congratulate all my colleagues on this happy occasion. I express my love and gratitude to all my colleagues for their invaluable support in my endeavours and dreams to explore the potentials of Panjab University at higher levels and for performing their role as mentors/benefactors of mankind.
