PASIGHAT, Nov 12: Every season brings new festivals, new hopes and new preparations. Exactly after six days of Deepawali, the Chhath Puja is now being celebrated with enthusiasm, dedication and religious fervor in Pasighat by the people of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to have life sustaining energies and prosperity with the constant faith on Lord Surya.
The devotees today offered Sandhya Arghya at various places on the riverbank of Pane with thousands of lit lamps making a delightful sight to the setting Sun by standing in knee-deep water followed by Agni Puja at home.
The Education minister Bosiram Siram and Member of Parliament (LS) Ninong Ering greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Chhath and further stated it become an inseparable and integral part of socio-cultural life of the city and appealed to observe in right spirit and discipline.
The minister Siram in his message prayed for the social amity, development and prosperity and described it as a socio-religious gathering that helped in strengthening the mutual faith and relationship. The MP Ering termed a festival of truth, non-violence, forgiveness and compassion.
