8 June:The Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned Rs. 1344.49818 lakh to the State Governments of Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujrat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh for the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Drought Prone Area Development Programme” (DPAP) under the “Haryali Guidelines” during the current financial year 2008-09.
Rs. 281.21 lakh have been sanctioned as 3rd installment of Central Release for the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA)Prakasam District of Andhra Pradesh under Haryali-I for 42 projects during the current year.
The DRDA Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand has been sanctioned Rs.39.87 lakh as 3rd installment of Central Release for 6 projects under Haryali-I during the current year.
The Panchmahal DRDA in Gujrat has been sanctioned Rs.268.59421 lakh as 2nd installment of Central Release for 40 projects under Haryali-II during the current year. The Nasik DRDA in Maharashtra has been sanctioned Rs.94.30725 lakh as 2nd installment of Central Release for 26 projects under Haryali-I during the current year.
In Karnataka, of the sanctioned Rs.208.74615 lakhs, the Gulbarga Zilla Panchayat will receive Rs.87.82881 lakh as 6th installment of Central Release for Batch VII 15 projects and Haveri Zilla Panchayat will get Rs.120.91734 lakh as 3rd installment of Central Release for 14 projects under Haryali-II during the current year.
The Janjgir-Champa Zilla Panchayat in Chhattisgarh has been sanctioned Rs.40.45570 lakh as 2nd installment of Central Release for 6 projects under Haryali-IV during the current year.
The Kalahandi DRDA in Orissa has been sanctioned Rs.310.45633 lakh as 3rd installment of Central Release for 46 projects under Haryali-III during the current year.
In Madhya Pradesh, of the sanctioned Rs.100.85854 lakhs, the Panna Zilla Panchayat will receive Rs.53.72156 lakh as 2nd installment of Central Release for Haryali-IV 8 projects and Rajgarh Zilla Panchayat will get Rs. 47.13698 lakh as 2nd installment of Central Release for 7 projects under Haryali-III during the current year.
The Grant is towards Plan Expenditure and its utilization is subject to the terms and conditions laid down in the guidelines for watershed development and also to the condition and orders issued or to be issue by the Central Government from time to time.
The Project Directors of concerned DRDAs and CEOs of concerned ZPs will insure the proper utilization of funds by the Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs). The State Government should also release their due share to the DRDAs/ ZPs within 15 days from the date of release of the Central Share. The next installment of Central share be released only after all unspent balances and 50% of the installment now being released have been spent. That is, the unspent balance at the time of seeking the release of next installment should not be more than 50% of last installment released.
