By Madhup. Chandigarh, 26th Feb: Very soon, its IPL season again i.e. another reason of disappointment for the film Producers and distributers. It is because as they allege, the charisma of IPL, which woes the audiences, leaving them with no option but to delay the release of their films. However undeterred by this and breaking all the shackles and fears, the renowned Production and Distribution Company, Warner Bros. Pictures, has taken a firm and bold step to release not just a single, but four films in a row during the IPL Season 2010.
The first film to be released will be Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge on 5th March, followed by Hollywood Film, Clash of the Titans on 2nd April. Then coming to the cinemas will be Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai on 9th April followed by Hindi Animation Film Bird Idol releasing on 23rd April, 2010. This decision is being looked up as an encouraging initiative in the film industry, as a ray of hope for not letting the zeal of cinema die during the IPL
The one prime reason behind this audacious decision is of course to break free the industry from the qualms of the IPL Phobia but secondly, also the confidence that they have in their projects. No wonder that the IPL has taken over the masses with a storm and is a crisp form of entertaining people right within their homes, but is it at the cost of the Indian Film Industry? is one question, which Warner Bros. has tried to answer back with their gutsy decision.
Warner Bros. Pictures, Deputy M.D. (Theatrical), Denzil Dias said, “We are extremely excited to release not one but four films in this period where most distributors stay away. We are confident that our films will appeal to all audiences and will make them laugh, cry, fall in love, cheer and most importantly be entertained!”
Whereas as IPL will engage People from March 12, 2010 to April, 25, 2010, we hope that unlike yester years where, Cinema Halls has seen a very low attendance, this year Warner Bros. will bring a lot to cheer amidst the cinema lovers.
