Students for Society (SFS) organized its first conference with the slogan of “RISE AGAINST PRIVATISATION AND COMMERCIALISATION OF EDUCATION” in the English Auditorium of P.U. The programme started at 11 am. The programme marked its beginning with the Flag hoisting. The President of the organization Raminder Singh read the proclamation and General Secretary Sachinderpal Singh read the organisational report. The organizational report includes various activities and positive negatives of SFS in the last two years (from the formation of the organization). The organization was formed on 28th of September 2010. Main Speaker Prof. Madhu Prasad of Zakir Hussain College, DU {Member of presidium, AIFRTE (All India Forum for Right to Education)} addressed the issue of privatization and commercialization of education. Other speakers also presented their views regarding the same issue and congratulated and wished SFS luck for future. Play “Baba Bolda Hai” and choreography was also performed by SFS cultural team. A documentary on education was also shown. Students participated actively in the conference.
